A new Drawing

I have been on Copic withdraw lol. So I forced myself to draw something this week. There is a trend called Steampunk. I found it interesting so I used it as my inspiration. I may do a series of these.


Also Thanks to a wonderful friend of mine. I got a job painting the entrance to our community center. A little extra money and a first for my window painting :)

Long Lost Me....

Well I have been moving the last few days and have had no internet for well over a week. We have a new home YAY!! And I have my own scrap room!!! For all of you who know how LONG I've been waiting for this EEEKKKK :DI'll take pics when I get it all in order. I am so excited!!

Before the move there were a few projects I got done. First was a LO for Favorite Things -Favorite holiday. Oh yes that is me when I was little. :)



Next over st SCRAPGAL We are showcasing Maya Road and Basic Grey this month. This is what I created. I have a small How to on Scrapgal's Blog

The family has been fighting the stomach flu this week on top of everything UGH. My turn was last night and this morning, feeling better now. But it was not fun.

On a better happier note My dear girl Chris A. sent me a beautiful painting WOW Talent!!!!! It is stunning I will post pics soon. Thank you Chris...SOO Much!!

My First Post as An Angel :)

Oh My Sick!!

I never thought I could feel so bad all at once. Lance finally came home from his hunting trip Monday. He left 10 days before bleh. Well that day I woke up with a little bit of a headache. Ok nothing out of sorts so I popped my migraine pills and went about my day. Then Lance came home we made an appointment to see a house and headed over there. As the day went on my headache got worse then I started freezing, feeling groggy, ect. By the time we left our appointment I was in the passenger seat kicked all the way back feeling like my heart and my head was going to pound out of my body. I could barely walk from the car to the house. My stomach then started bugging me. I felt like my body weighed 800 lbs. Then I ended up with a 102+ fever. It was horrible!!! Needless to say I did not get out of bed till Tuesday night. Wed. I still had the throbbing head and achy body and upset stomach. I have NEVER felt this bad before......Plus You know how much you miss in the web world in three days. Dang I thought I was gone for weeks. On top of all of my sickiness I have to pack our house to move UGH!! So I apologize now for being out of the loop for the next couple of weeks. I am going to try and catch up some this week but no promises ;) Hugs girls I hope your health stays strong and for you who have caught the lovely flu this season fast recovery. A Couple Challenges :)

Hi everybody :) Hope your weekend went well. We have been kind of stressed around the Dougherty house. Hubs has been on a hunting trip ALL week so it's been me and the kids. WOW they know how to push my buttons lol. We are preparing to move by the end of the month so I've been packing. You know packing really SUCKS!!! I hate moving. Trying to make sure all of my breakables and scrapbooks don;t get ruined. At least we are only moving in a 10 mile radius so it' not a far haul.

I have two challenges to show this week. The first is These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things, This challenge is to show your Favorite Decade. I enjoyed this challenge. My favorite decade is the 50's .. I love the styling, the edge that part of the 50's had. So many of our all time favorite actresses came from the 50's glam. Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and of course another 50's sex kitten Betty Page. Rock a Billy, hot rods, and bad boys LOL....So what is your favorite decade?


I couldn't find a pic and I didn't want to steal one so I drew one instead. I love my Copics!!!


Next is the new challenge on Dreamgirls Challenge blog. List it is the prompt, use a clear embellishment, and use mixed alphas on the LO.
Mine is my top ten reasons I love being a mom. I used Graphic 45 PP, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Screen (Marshmallow, and Sunflower on the letters), Tim Holtz clear elements, Basic Grey letters, and ceramic flowers I found in the wedding isle at Michaels. Please go by and join in :)

A Self Portrait Of Sorts

Over at Project 52 they have a multi medium challenge going on. This is my take on it.
I made the paper mache bird. I used a ceramic piece as my mold and then cut it in half, pulled it off then mended it back together. Used Coffee Shop and Candlelight Glimmer Mist. Then a pale yellow acrylic paint. Mixed black paint and Coffee Shop mist for the details on the wings.

Made a birds nest out of Wool fiber, twine, wire and grass. Made the stand out of wooden thread spools, and a plastic lid. distressing them with crackle paint. Then of course I added Prima flowers and pearls.

The tags say; mom, wife, friend, art, and of course God. I needed a found item I used the cross charm as my found item. I made the bird to show how staying home with my kids again makes me feel nurturing again :)and the craftiness of birds and their nest represents my artistic side.






I made another book as well :) This one was made out of a Dictionary
